~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I LISTEN WITH MY WHOLE BEING Steven Covey says, 'Seek first to understand, then to be understood.' This is difficult if, as many of us, you did not grow up with a model for effective listening. Most of the time, many of us just wait for the other person to finish talking so we can say what is on our own minds. The other person does the same, so conversations can be unsatisfying, and they may escalate into arguments because nobody is listening. Listening involves all your senses, physical and spiritual. It means attending to the other person with your whole being. If your ancestors respected something, the future generations will be respected back. The Indian ancestors always showed great respect for the Earth. That's why the Earth is so respectful to Indians today. Every Indian naturally feels connectedness to the Earth. We know the Earth holds our ancestors. If we continue to respect Mother Earth, our children will benefit and so will our grand- children. Today, we should think about and pray for our Mother Earth.” ~ Don Coyhis, Mohawk “A sympathetic heart is like a spring of pure water bursting forth from the mountain side.” ~ Anonymous “We pine for kindred natures to mingle with our own.” ~ Mrs. Felicia D. Hemans, ‘Psyche Borne by Zephyrs to the Island of Pleasure’ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ APPRECIATING RELATIONSHIPS A relationship is something to appreciate. A relationship allows you to share experiences. It lets you see yourself through someone else's eyes, and if that can be annoying at times, it is also a wonderful opportunity for self-awareness and growth. A relationship provides companionship, affection, entertainment, support, and caring. It allows you to share responsibilities and combine your abilities and assets of all types: mental, physical, emotional, and financial. All of these characteristics can be valued and cherished. Grow the love in your life by appreciating your relationship itself. From the article: "Growing the Love In Relationships", by Noelle Nelson, Ph.D. & Jeannine Calaba, Psy.D. You may find yourself able to identify with the struggles of those around you and seek ways to create more happiness and peace in the world. You may wish to consider volunteering your time to causes that are important to you, either in your local community or on a larger scale by working with an established charitable organization. You could also make it your mission to spread compassion to everyone you encounter today through kind words and an understanding demeanor. If you set an intention to be helpful and supportive in every situation, the universe will provide you with the opportunities to assist others. Choosing to extend kindness and compassion to others empowers us with joy and satisfaction. Our feelings of compassion for others can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially if we are unsure of the best ways to communicate them. When we choose to understand that even small gestures of kindness can have a profound impact on the lives of others, we derive a sense of empowerment from being able to help in any way. As we extend kindness and compassion to others, we benefit from a feeling of joy and satisfaction that comes from knowing that we were able to make a difference in their lives. We may even feel inspired to continue with our efforts. Your compassion for others can best be expressed by being kind and helpful to everyone you meet today. © Reproductions Permitted http://www.DailyOM.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ KEY To Understanding CANCER: IMAGINATION With the acquisition of "feeling", as typified by Cancer, we bring into play in ourselves the Cancer Keyword "IMAGINATION". This too is a super-conscious function, for with our feelings in operation we can now function with our superconscious mind. IMAGINATION is the key to Cancer and the great operating center of magic. It is defined as the act of forming mental images of something that, at the moment, does not exist in the usual material sense. Imagination is the creation of a picture by your own mind. Imagination is what you can "see" in your mind's eye. This should not be confused with clairvoyance, which is the art of the "seer". While clairvoyance is a form of seeing, the pictures are seen passively of scenes at a distance. In imagination we are speaking of an active picturing of things in the mind of familiar things that may occur in our daily lives, or how we could dream about the way we want our lives to be. In magic we imagine, or picture things deliberately, for this imagining is the origin of creating things with our thoughts. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CANCER: “I FEEL” 2nd Decan Influence: "SYMPATHY" July 2nd – July 12st The second of July this year heralds the entrance to the Second Decan of Cancer. This period teaches us more about Cancer’s "feeling" with Sympathy. This is something more than feeling, however; it is feeling together. It follows on the heels of Intuition because it is an intuitive knowing with regard to other people. The derivation of the word tells us this. It is derived from the root "sym" which means together; and from "path" which is feeling or suffering. Hence "Sympath", feeling together. Sympathy is the sharing of another person's mental or emotional state, and that too is appropriate to Cancer. This gift of sympathetically feeling another’s joy and pain takes a special strength to handle while being sensitive to their needs for privacy. When people's feelings become known, things can become very dramatic. Watch others and search within for your feelings of sympathy. This can be a good time for getting feelings together with the Brothers and Sisters and learn a Cancer lesson doing so. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For more on the lessons of CANCER see: http://druidcraft.us/astrology.htm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DO YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE? You may have noticed the Tabs at the top of the screen, the ones that say: Words of Wisdom, Newsletters, Statistics, etc. Clicking on any of them will bring up a window at the top of the page with that Tab's content in it. The page below will remain the same as you click thru the Tabs.
Sympathy is Cancer’s 2nd influence during this month of learning about our FEELINGS. Sympathy is all about “feeling with” another person. It’s considering how they feel so much that my sympathy becomes an empathic experience of the emotions of the other.
