He said the long lines at the gas pumps would be nothing compared to the outbreak of violence he feels would happen when gas becomes scarce. When the peek oil situation becomes troubling enough, he feels the large population there would cause the city to become too dangerous for him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ RECEIVING GUIDANCE ~ Carrie Hart, Quado Daily Portion Today is a day to receive guidance. Today is a day to hold off trying to influence and instead to be influenced by love and connection, by a truth which overrides your smaller concerns. Begin with this intention only, that you be a vessel for truth. Begin with the intention that you may be clear of personal desires and instead be a vessel for the desires of the universe and your higher self, for you and your life. Ask that you may receive guidance now and throughout the day, giving you the best possible action for you to take in the moment as it occurs, to further your life in good ways. Then breathe deeply and picture the little particles of energy in the sky. See the silver and gold particles, swirling gently around. Now see them form into a cone and dip down and cover you, clearing your mind, clearing your entire head, moving down and slowly covering your entire body, taking away the tension and anxiety, removing all the worry. And as the cone then lifts slowly off, feel all of the worry and anxiety leaving your body. Feel it relax. Feel your mind clear. And now picture your own higher self above you, as a bright golden ball. Open the crown of your head and allow the golden energy from your own higher self to pour down into your cleansed mind and body. Let it flow down and fill you with love, sweet love, endless love. Let it flow down and fill you with energy, good energy, pure energy, loving energy. Feel it and let it flow and fill you. Let it light the fire in your center so that you glow all over with love and higher purpose. Stay in this space of Now as long as you can, your mind quiet, your center warm and calm, just feeling the glow of being. If something comes to you, a feeling, a word, a vision, jot it down and look at it throughout the day. Do not push and probe. If this is not the moment for guidance, then let it go. Many people receive guidance in very subtle ways, and they dismiss it because it seems so ephemeral. Your intention is to stay open to it throughout the day, as you go about your life. For five years the peak oil movement has been largely the province of internet conspiracy buffs, church basement conferences and esoteric debates among petroleum geologists and scientists about statistical data few can understand. Last month, however, oil “peaksters” seemed to break out of their policy doldrums when they journeyed to the banks of the Potomac for what may have been their first mainstream conference in the nation's capital. Among those Involved in the discussion were Department of Energy consultant Roger Bezdek, former World Bank economist and Nobel Prize winner Herman Daly, NASA Goddard Space Institute Director James Hansen, perhaps the leading scientist to document global warming, Mona Sahlin, minister of Sustainable Development for Sweden, which is pursuing a plan to completely end its dependence on oil. This was no crowd of radical tree huggers. For three days, they debated how the nation and world should respond to the imminent peak in world oil production, after which the supply of Beverly Hillbilly Jed Clampett’s “black gold” will decline forevermore while demand blows through the roof as the industrial and automotive age engulf China and India. Most Americans—even those tuned into network news and the nation’s better newspapers—would never know that leading scientists and some politicians are discussing peak oil and how it promises to dramatically reduce Earth’s population as the century unfolds. Others compare oil peaksters to religious fundamentalists, both awaiting the apocalypse. Fundamentalists foresee the Biblical four horsemen, who will punish the wicked after true Christians ascend to join Jesus in the Great Rapture. Meanwhile, peaksters look to a cruel science of ecology that warns of a great die off at the hands of natural law. The peak oil cognoscenti will survive by building sustainable communities, like the castles of medieval times. Peaksters fret that without massive worldwide cooperation to quickly convert to new, more efficient energy technologies the next hundred years will see a population implosion amid growing warfare over the world’s shrinking fossil fuel supply. We are entering the last phase of using up the oil that took geologic epochs to form in less than a couple centuries. Without oil and natural gas, the most pessimistic of peaksters project that the world’s economy will rapidly devolve to burning wood and coal and plowing the fields with horses, a technological base that once supported 2 billion people but not 6.5 billion and growing. Meanwhile, the more fuel we burn the hotter the planet will become, raising sea levels, intensifying storms, and creating other climate shifts that will imperil agriculture. Bezdek, an optimist among peaksters, believes that a “massive crash” conversion program will take 20 years and cost trillions of dollars, if it can be done at all. “The bottom line is the world has never faced a problem like oil peaking,” he said. ~ Excerpted from an article by William J. Intuition is a way of knowing by feeling things. It is the immediate knowing of something without having to consciously think of it. Our society, which is a product of the so-called Age of Reason, has denied this form of knowing things but we all recognize it in ourselves. It is the "gut feeling" we get about things and the fancy word for it is "clairsentience". It is hunches and often it is what we really mean when we talk about picking up "vibes". It is an important form of knowing for us, if often hard to interpret.
