You can change the screen size of the Site to fit your monitor and your preferences by looking waaayyyyy up in the upper right corner of the screen. You'll see Default and Wide Res. Default is 800x600 resolution, and the Wide Res is 1024x768. Wider is better if it can all fit on your screen. 
If you look on the left panel of the screen, below the menus, you'll see the Who's Online box. That will tell you who is online at the moment, as well as who is in the Chat area! To join in the Chatting, just click on the Icon there or the words "Live Chat" and you'll be whisked into the chat area.
