Birds of a feather flock together. You’ve probably heard this familiar saying before, though it might be more accurate to say “those who are like each other flock together.” This is the Law of Attraction at work. This great natural Law tells us that which is like unto itself is drawn. In other words, the vibration of our thoughts attract others of like mind. Have you ever noticed that? When you’re feeling good you attract others who are similarly inclined, however when you’re feeling bad you also attract others in a grumpy or depressed state of mind. Covens generally attract and bring together people of like mind. People who are happy most of the time will attract a group around them who are also happy most of the time. When everyone has a similar disposition by the nature of the vibration of their thoughts we say they are “Birds of the same feathers” (to bend a phrase). This is a great feeling to be with a group of people you can trust to keep your secrets and trust will help you without hesitation. When a working coven are “Birds of a feather who flock together” then the group feels good. What happens when someone in the group thinks differently? If it is only a slight difference, the discord will eventually become harmonious if the odd one out WANTS to become like the rest of the flock. However, occasionally there is a participant who stays at odds, develops detrimental thoughts about the other members and continues to strike a discordant feeling amongst the other members. Eventually this difference in vibration becomes uncomfortable and the participants in the group will change so that it is a more harmonious combination. It is impossible to escape the Law of Attraction. Negative thoughts aimed at anyone will either push them away from you if they are generally a happy person, OR these negative thoughts will draw other negative thoughts from the other members because like attracts like in the mental world of thought. There is no such thing as the “Law of Getting It Away from Me”. There is only the Law of Attraction. No thought is excluded in attracting a similar vibration. Every thought has attractive power bringing to you similar vibrations. An American Indian wisdom saying tells us that “Every thought is a prayer.” I believe that is true, because I have seen that every emotion I have invites a similar vibration into my experience. Therefore to build a group (or a set of friends) of positive, happy, like-minded individuals, it becomes beneficial for the group to practice those feelings especially when they are together and thinking about each other. Who do YOU hang out with? Are you comfortable with them? Are they supportive and helpful? Do they contribute to your feeling of well-being? Are they the kind of people you admire for the example they set? Those friends that flock together eventually become somewhat like each other. What kind of birds are in your flock? Are these the kind you want to become like? If not, maybe it’s time for a change! It’s worth thinking about…

Einstein tells us that everything is energy, and the study of physics tells us that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, but only transformed from one thing into another. Quantum physics tells us that the vibrational state of a thing changes when it is observed. In other words, the energy we bring to an observation creates what we observe. So what is observed changes depending on what kind of an observer there is looking at it. If it’s true even at the sub-atomic level, that when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change, then it can be understood that we can change what we look at by what we bring to what we look at. For example, if we bring hostility to what we look at, we will not only perceive hostility in our observations, but we will also create it just by the nature of the vision we have when we look at what we are observing. How do I look at things? This then is the real issue here… how do I look at things? Einstein said the most fundamentally important question that you will ever ask yourself is this, “Do I live in a friendly or a hostile universe?” The way you look your world will determine what your life experience is going to be. So when you change the way you look at things, literally the things you look at change. When we put a couple of tiny particles of the atom into a particle accelerator and smash them into each other to find what they are made of, science tells us we find nothing, we find no-thing. From this we learn that particles do not create particles. Particles come from this no-thing-ness. Physics Nobel Prize winner, Max Planc, said in his acceptance speech as he was given this prize, that “There is no matter as such.” This is scientifically true. Matter comes from the invisible world of the spirit or soul or mind. Physics is finally understanding what metaphysicians have been saying for years - matter is a creation of spirit. The things that you see, therefore, have not originated from this world of form. Everything has as its origin this universal Mind of intention. Particles, before they can become particles, come from an energy field of “no-thing-ness”. The First Hermetic Principle of Mentalism: All Is Mind This is this universal field of mental intention. It may be easiest to understand this when we look at the “Big Bang” theory of the ever expanding universe which tells us that the universe, or this universal Mind is ever expanding into new areas of thought. This field of intention then is also a field of abundance, because it joyfully flows into whatever thought you decide to think. Therefore, if you bring anger, frustration, and hostility to a situation, then this universal Mental field of intention (of which we are all a part) will just as joyfully flow that negative energy into what you observe, creating a match for the negative vibration you are feeling. However, it can just as easily joyfully flow into a vibrational match for happiness, joy, and love. It’s the observer that creates the world he lives in with his the energy he brings to his observations. “Loving people live in a loving world. Hostile people live in a hostile world. Same world.” ~ Dr. Wayne Dwyer What kind of a world do YOU live in? Is it one that is hostile and unfriendly? Do you habitually think the worst, or do you give people the benefit of the doubt and try to find a better feeling thought to bring to any given situation? The thoughts you think create the world in which you live. What kind of world do you want to live in? Do you want it badly enough to watch your thinking so that your observations will create the correct vibrational match for what you want? It’s worth thinking about…

“As very few people were sufficiently proficient at alchemy, and as the Church leaders were not among those who were, it became a political hot potato. Obviously the transmutation of metals - if at all possible - was an act of God, and accordingly, anyone who aspired to become Pope should be able to master it, as should other high dignitaries, cardinals, bishops, etc, whereas it didn't look good in the hands of all and sundry. To save face the only alternative was to ascribe alchemy to the Devil, and that was eventually done, although people such as Roger Bacon, Albertus Magnus and Thomas Aquinas all defended the Art; however, they were a minority. “From the Reformation and through to this day it has gradually been coming back into fashion. The Christian mystics, the Freemasons, the Rosicrusians and most other non-fundamentalist organizations use, at least, alchemical terminology and symbolism. They speak of: “The Transmutation of the Soul”, where Man, in his lust-ridden mortal coils, represents the crude base lead, but whose soul, by the infinite grace of God, at the moment of death is transmuted - or transmigrated - into Cosmic Gold in Heaven.” ~ For the rest of this fascinating article see: http://hem.fyristorg.com/lbl/index1.htm Change is the only constant in this Universe. We, however, tend to be more comfortable when things stay the same. However, to grow is to change… to change is to grow. Can we change and be transmuted to this higher vibration BEFORE death? If we’re going to embrace change as a necessity for our spiritual growth, then how can we learn to deal with all the changes we see happening and still maintain the high-reaching vibrations of happiness? Meditation, of course, is an excellent way, because it separates us from this physical world and allows us to view our circumstances from a vantage point outside ourselves. When I practice meditation as a daily routine, then I become practiced at “letting go” of many things… my body, my worries, my tensions… and become more open to receiving the clarity necessary for seeing my world as orderly rather than chaotic. How do you deal with Change? Can you rise above the chaos and see the order? Can you relax and go with the flow, changing your inner nature from chaotic to calm… or do you find that you need to work at it like the alchemist? It’s worth thinking about…

I went to a wonderful party over the week-end which happens about this same time every year. Though it wasn’t a Samhain celebration, it was still a gathering of very good friends, live music (always fun) and a time to appreciate all the precious people I have in my life. I even re-connected with a new friend who I MUST make time to visit! As we walked into this party I witnessed a change in my countenance. I saw that I stood taller, walked with confidence and had an automatic smile on my face in anticipation of the wonderful evening ahead. It’s so great to have something to look forward to! My partner was very shy so I talked with him about "acting as if"... and Father Eli's words came to mind...
“Act as if and you shall become.” ~ Father Eli Gatoga (1916-1983)
If I ‘act as if’ (or pretend) to be happy and confident, then I will become that way. I don’t consider this as not being “real”. I consider this part of my magical nature, focusing on that which I want to become like – until my ‘motion creates emotion’ – and I ‘act as if’ until I become what I am focused upon. “Focus is the hocus-pocus.” ~ Karen Karbo
The Law of Attraction tells us that which is like unto itself is drawn. So if I continue with this line of thought, I will eventually overcome my shyness and only attract more confidence and happiness into my experience. Isn’t this what I’d rather have? I want to feel good. Everything of God, feels good. "... and ALL that God created was good." ~ Genesis 1:31
Feeling good allows me to connect with Source Energy. My connection allows this Source of Well-being to flow freely through me manifesting my desires as I surrender to this powerful flow. Those things that don’t feel good, are far removed from this Creative Source Energy. Making the decision to feel good, and making the effort to reach for a better thought that improves my feeling, also improves my disposition, my frame of mind, and serves to advance me along my Path toward Perfection. Reflection is good and can help me make better decisions at the next opportunity. Feeling ‘not good’, and will only attract more ‘not good’ feeling experiences into my life. Therefore, it’s time to make the decision to feel good, regardless of what’s happening in my life. How can I do that?
One very good approach is to count my blessings, and dwell on the purely positive people and things in my life.
If we attract a similar vibration to that which we are feeling and transmitting, then what would YOU rather have show up in your life? Are you willing to do the work, and “act as if” until your pretended emotion creates the motion you’d LIKE to see.
Are you willing to change your thinking in order to manifest what you want? How important is the work of Transmutation to YOU?
