Libra - Balancing the Contrast |

 Opposites are only the extremes of the same thing. It takes one to be able to see the other, as there can be neither cold without heat, nor love without hate, nor light without the darkness for comparison.
The awareness of these contrasting pairs of opposites usually is most apparent when we see something we don’t like, and think about what we’d rather have instead. This awareness of contrast is the beginning of the magical process of creation.
The Hermetic Principle of Polarity is at work in everyday life. Our awareness of the contrasting pairs of opposites form a polarity. It is from the recognition of the polar opposites, and the choices we make about which one we want to move toward, that we find our Way on the Path.
The Hermetic Principle of Vibration tells us that "Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates." This Principle embodies the truth that "everything is in motion"; "everything vibrates"; "Nothing is at rest"; — facts which Modern Science endorses and which each new scientific discovery tends to verify. And yet this Hermetic Principle was enunciated thousands of years ago by the Masters of Ancient Egypt.
This Principle explains the different levels of manifestations of Matter, Energy, Mind, and even Spirit, resulting largely from varying rates of Vibration. From THE ALL, which is Pure Spirit, down to the grossest form of Matter, all is in vibration: the higher the vibration, the higher the position in the scale. Between these poles, there are millions upon millions of varying degrees of vibration.
As we become aware of the contrasts or the polarity of situations, we begin to see things we don’t want in our lives, and this awareness brings about the consideration of what we’d rather have instead. These “wants” and “don’t wants” are actually two extremes of the same thing.
The application of The Hermetic Principle of Vibration shows us that we are given our freewill to gravitate toward that vibration which best harmonizes with our own. If we think mostly about love, then we will be attracting love and moving toward love. If we think mostly hateful thoughts, then we will likewise move toward and be attracted to those at the tense end of the emotional spectrum. What we choose to have in our lives depends upon which end of the spectrum we think about. Whatever we dwell on the most is what we attract into our experience.
The problem that develops is that we tend to get so focused on what we DON’T want that it takes up our entire thought process. The Law of Attraction tells us, “that which is like unto itself is drawn.” Therefore, when we dwell on what we DON’T want, we are actually re-creating more of the same.

And when you begin to line up your Energy, you will be amazed at how fast the Universe responds to you.”

How can we use good judgment to balance our awareness of the contrasting polarity?
Every thought we send out acts like a powerful electro-magnet attracting similar vibrations. Therefore, our work on this plane is about clarify our thoughts so that we only attract what we want, instead of more of what we don’t want.
"Law of Attraction abounds, and when it is said to you, "Ask, and it is given," there is no more powerful statement that is at the basis of what makes things happen than that. Now, how is it that you think you ask? With your words? The Universe doesn't hear your words. You ask with your desire. The desire that is born out of the contrast. That desire. That wanting. That's what summons the Life Force of Source Energy."

Observing the contrast keeps us sharp and clear. Good judgment requires that we make a decision about what we DO want. This decision keeps us asking and balanced.

You will receive that which enhances what you want ~ while you will not receive that which does not apply. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, you will feel refreshed. When you see the contrast do you try to explain why it is you don’t like it, why it is that you don’t like being there? Do you try to justify what you don’t like and what you don’t want?
If you do, you are transmitting a vibration that can only attract more of the same.
How can you change a situation?
Since all contrast is only the awareness of the polarity between what we want and want we don’t want, then our work – according to the Principle of Vibration – is to focus on the end of the spectrum which we would rather have.

Find a little piece of it, a little string of it, a little trail of it, a little clue of it - look for something about it, and focus upon that little piece, and by Law of Attraction, watch it grow!”

 I’ve always enjoyed this description of who we are, why we are here and where we’re going, from the writers of Babylon 5:
“Our atoms are made of the same material that are also the components of stars and planets. The Universe is made of the same stuff as that which can be found in our bodies. We are literally "star stuff".
We view the Universe as a sentient being who is in the process of self-realization, in a way that we can never truly understand. It breaks itself apart into smaller fragments so that each may grow as it gathers information and understanding of itself.
We are these smaller pieces of the Whole, each with our own unique perspective and understanding. Valuable to each other because of the unique experiences we've had and the understanding we've gained from these experiences.
Yes, we are all connected... pieces of the Creator... pieces of the Whole.”

When we speak of “The Creator”, we are really referring to the two who make the perfect One… the perfect balance of male and female.
And God said, “Let us make man in our image.”

Science, here on Earth, tells us that the creation of life happens either by the union of male and female, or by the splitting of polarities. Either way, the dual nature of creation is expressed. We are also expressions of this dual nature.
"If I use a flashlight to project a beam of light on the wall, you see the light on the wall, but this circle of light is not the Source. It comes from somewhere else. The soul is also a projection from another place. It does not exist inside our bodies anymore than the light exists inside the wall. But the wall provides a place where the light can be perceived."

This is much like the place our own physical shell provides for our spirit. The body, then, provides us with a way to perceive our own light independent from the Oneness we experience without it.
We are an immortal being living a mortal existence. Therefore we are of two parts: mortal or the physical being, and the mental soul or immortal being, each of which has parents. Our mortal bodies will grow into the likeness of our physical parents, and our spiritual being will also grow into the likeness of our spiritual parents.
A 12 year old told me this simple, yet profound statement: “Since it takes two to make one, then everyone has part of both their mother and father in them.”
It is our own Judgment that tells us whether our nature is more feminine or more masculine or balanced somewhere between the two.
Principle of Polarity
The Hermetic Principle of Polarity says: “Everything is Dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled.”

The Nature of Good Judgment |

 In the Druidic Craft of the Wise, we first study the basic philosophy that connects us to Source Energy and powers our magic. The Apprentice then may work to bring clarity to this connection by studying him or herself in the next set of lessons. This is an in depth look at one’s self with an eye toward clearing out the debris we’ve brought with us from our upbringing and other false beliefs we’ve accumulated that muddy our connection to Source Energy.
"When you let go of all the emotion you've been stuffing down, all the fear and all the sadness and all of the energy that comes when we get a disappointment -- when you let go of that energy, you clear out the pipes so that the Life Force, which is also known as Love, can flow more freely which raises your frequency because that's really what is required to raise your frequency is the allowance of a free flow of Divine Love Life Force through you. Once we become a full member, or “Fellow of the Craft” we then learn to study in Nature’s university.

If the Creator wishes a truth to be known, this truth is made manifest in Nature for people to observe and understand.

Mother Nature can tell us so much if we take the time to chat with Her and are aware enough to watch and listen for Her answers!

LIBRA's Balanced JUDGMENT |

 We all have experiences from time to time that are not so great. Sometimes these situations leave us with a very bad feeling either because we are (or someone else is) judging ourselves harshly; or because we are judging another harshly.
When we feel as if we’ve done something wrong, or when we feel someone else has done something wrong… this thought produces a very bad feeling.
Our feelings are our guidance system.
Our feelings are communication from our higher mind. These feelings let us know whether we are allowing the well-being of Source Energy to flow through us or not. When Source is flowing through us we feel very good. However, when we have pinched it off we feel bad. "When you pay attention to the way that you feel, what you are going to notice is … your emotions let you know, your emotions are your guidance system that let you know how you are vibrating. And it is so important to understand that, because when you know how you are vibrating, then you understand everything that is coming to you.”
~ Abraham-Hicks If we carry around this bad feeling for very long, we will start to vibrate in harmony with it. The Law of Attraction says that which is like unto itself is drawn, so we will begin to find other situations, other experiences with a similar vibration being drawn into the circumstances of our lives.
“When you feel negative emotion, it is always because you are in some way resisting the natural flow of energy that's coming to you. You have learned to tolerate negative emotion to such a degree that you don't recognize it until it appears as illness or something big. Your job is to start monitoring your feelings so you really know what is joy, and what is appreciation, what is love and what is sadness, what is anxiety, what is frustration, what is anger. When you can detect subtle shifts in your feelings, you will be able to do subtle adjustments in your vibration which will bring you the ability to follow your bliss.”

So it becomes a part of good judgment to pay attention to our feelings and keep them balanced and centered in the good feeling of well-being that emanates to us from Source Energy at the core of our being. When we feel bad, this bad feeling lets us know that we have created some resistance to this Source Energy. When we feel good we have let go of our resistance to this Source of well-being, and this powerful energy begins to flow strongly through us again.

MAGICAL BALANCE
The sign of Libra begins at the Vernal Equinox when the Sun stands in balance, with all the days and nights of equal length. The glyph of Libra, the scales, represents this nature of seeking balance. Librans are always seekers after harmony and equity. The lesson of their seeking is to see their quest, and from it learn what they sense so well - that harmony is one of the greatest secrets of Wisdom.
Libra’s divine influence is taken straight from those scales: "I Balance." The Libran is the original and expert "fence sitter." These folks are so anxious to keep things in balance that they can be frequently seen hanging up right on dead center. There is a virtue in this, for the person who balances all things and weighs them carefully before moving will not be caught out in left field when the ball goes to right. Balance means maintaining an equality of forces, and mentally it refers to emotional equilibrium. This is so desirable that we refer to the sound individual with the comment that he is a well-balanced person. Libra people have this capacity. They are calm and hold themselves in good balance at all times, even if this means that they are sometimes hard to convince, and at worst become indecisive.

KEY to Understanding LIBRA: "MODERATION"
Aristotle, a student of Plato, the wisdom initiate, heavily emphasized the desirability of moderation as a primary concept in the life of Wisdom. Recognizing the virtue of moderation as that which enabled a person to walk most easily upon the Way and avoid the many pitfalls of extremism, Aristotle formulated moderation as the "Golden Mean" which kept all life in balance.
"Moderation in all things", he said, and this has come down to us as one of the truisms in which much wisdom is encased, and which, because they are platitudes so often heard, fail to impress us as they should. All great truth is simple but we tend to look nowadays for truth in complexity and thus become more confused than enlightened. "Be moderate" is the key of the Libran and by this means do we find our balance.
